Honors students are expected to maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3, or a B+ average. Failure to meet this requirement will result in students being placed on probation for one semester. If a student fails to improve his or her GPA in the probationary period to the satisfaction of the Faculty and Program Directors, the student may be be dismissed from the Business Honors Program.
Honors students are required to attend 5 Honors Colloquia per semester in their sophomore year. Failure to meet this requirement will result in students being placed on probation for one semester. If a student fails to attend the required number of Colloquia during this probationary period, he or she may be dismissed from the Business Honors Program. During their junior year, students are expected to attend 5 Honors Colloquia in either their fall or spring semester.
- All Honors students must complete two Honors courses ("Why Business?" and "Theological Ethics and Honorable Business") devoted to the moral purpose and character of business. Honors students typically take these courses in their sophomore year.
- All Honors students must complete one intermediate-level Honors course required by their major and one intermediate-level Honors course outside of their major.
- All Honors students must complete two advanced courses that count as electives within their major.
All Honors students must attend two mentoring sessions in the Fall semester and two mentoring sessions in the Spring semester of their sophomore and junior year.
Capstone Course Requirement
All Honors students will are required to enroll in a Capstone Course in their senior year, which will involve deeper investigation of a specific topic, issue, idea, or hypothesis, and will guide them through the process of developing and producing an original contribution.
