Extra-Curricular

Our Strategy

Our extracurricular offerings challenge students in a variety of ways, and when it’s time for them to graduate from Business Honors and Notre Dame, we help students achieve their dream first job. Keeping true to Blessed Basil Moreau’s enduring vision—“how we educate the mind will change with the times; how we cultivate the heart is and will remain timeless”—we dedicate ourselves to integral human development in ways both perennial and cutting-edge. The post-college years are not just for building a powerful career, but for leading a life well-lived. The Business Honors Program works to help students prepare for both in tandem.

Extra-Curricular Recruiting

High-Touch Recruiting Process

Our tailored career preparation process gives Honors students an edge in the job search process. While on the job hunt, students benefit from Business Honors in three distinct ways: career path discernment from BHP mentors and staff, professionalism coaching, and exclusive Honors-only recruiting events.

Students are encouraged to find a vocation that inspires them to become leaders in their field. Honors staff and mentors seek to help students with this discernment. In the recruiting process, Honors students bear the weight of high expectations for professionalism and career potential that comes with being a part of Business Honors, but they also benefit from greater leverage in commanding top job spots. Because of Honors’ renown, recruiters host invitation-only recruiting events for select Honors students. This is the advantage of having Business Honors in your corner and on your résumé.

“With eyes of faith consider the greatness of your mission and the wonderful amount of good which you can accomplish.”

– Bl. Basil Moreau

Mentoring

Every Honors student is paired with a mentor. All mentors have demonstrated excellence in their field and have shown a commitment to living oriented to the common good. Mentors come from many walks of life and many business fields. Almost all mentors are assigned ten or fewer Honors mentees, which means students and their mentors are able to meaningfully connect. Honors students are encouraged to talk through life’s challenges with their mentors, not just business topics.

Community Events

Throughout the school year, Honors students are invited to attend Honors-exclusive tailgates, Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers, and off-site activities like bowling, laser tag, and escape rooms. Business Honors’ greatest asset is its students. Community events are just another time where we grow our community outside the classroom.
